Canon G4280 Printhead Installation and Visibility of Ink

I was gifted a Pixma G4280 Megatank printer for 2024 Christmas and have two issues with its operation: pro head installation error and visibility of CMYK ink color in the Megatank windows.

Disclosure - I did not set up the printer until yesterday, June 8, 2025, but it was still sealed up in its box. It was purchased directly from the USA Canon online store. 

I keep getting printhead installation errors when trying to set up the printer. The instruction are easy to follow. I did not touch any of the printhead electronic connector strips. These are brand new printheads (for color and black inks) that were just unsealed from their packaging. I keep getting referrals to install new printheads as a solution.

I also installed all CMYK inks, but cannot see any colors in the ink well’s windows. 

What’s a solution?

Once logged in, click on your PIXMA G4280 and then click on the Product Support button. When that page loads, click on either the Phone Support button or the Chat Support button to access support. A Technical Support Representative can determine the cause of the issue and resolve it or provide you with your available service options.
