Canon 8800f scanner turns on but none of the scan buttons light up or work

I can't see a scanner board to ask this question but....

I have used my scanner lightly for a few years now the on off switches on & the bed lights up to initiate start up but then none of the scan buttons work. Help have I got a dud now??

Please try scanning with the MP Navigator software the scanner came bundled with.  If you run into an error in the MP Navigator, please reply and let us know the error you are having, as well as the version of Windows or Mac in use.
