Is there any way to disable the physical buttons on my (admittedly old) LiDE 220 scanner?

Greetings,
Completely disable, no. The IJ Scan Utility allows you to assign different functions, but not fully disable.
Are you trying to childproof the scanner? I've seen it all. Anything with buttons,, knobs or smart phones into water seems to be popular with toddlers. 👶

Many thanks for your help. No children around in this case. It's just that every time something on my desk bumps up against the scanner, it starts to perform one of its functions. I can relocate the scanner to solve that issue.
