Hi there,

Thanks for joining the Canon Community!

I took a look and see the PIXMA TR7120 does not have legal size as a supported media size, so your printer will not be able to print on that paper. If you'd like to take a look at your printer's full specifications you can HERE.

Hope that clarifies!

Print specs for you printer include the following:

Supported Paper
Sizes
4” x 6”, 5” x 5” (Square), 5” x 7”, 7” x 10”, 8” x 10”, Letter (8.5” x 11”), Legal
(8.5” x 14”)

Setting Up the Canon PIXMA TR7120 for 8.5x14 Printing

To print on 8.5x14 paper (Legal size) using the Canon PIXMA TR7120, follow these steps:

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open Printer Settings
    • On your computer, navigate to the printer settings.
  2. Select Print Option

    • Choose the print option for the document you want to print.
  3. Access Page Setup

    • Look for "Page Setup" or "Print Setup" in the print dialog.
  4. Choose Paper Size

    • In the paper size options, select "Legal" (8.5x14).
  5. Print Your Document

    • After setting the paper size, proceed to print your document.

Additional Tips

  • Ensure that the paper tray is loaded with 8.5x14 paper before starting the print job.
  • Check that your printer driver is up to date for optimal performance.

By following these steps, you can successfully set your Canon PIXMA TR7120 to print on 8.5x14 paper.

i tried that one but theres no option to enter the size of the legal paper, and the front tray paper does not have space for 8.5x14. i can custom size the page size to 8.5x14 but for the printer paper size it only max to 8.5x11.

Hi Derrick,

It appears we have conflicting info between website specs and the tech sheet. I'll reach out to our web team to confirm which is correct!

thank you so much. and if ever there's no option for legal size docs, whats the best solution for me, i just also bought a new set of ink cartridges.

I apologize for the misinformation in my post. Apparently Canon had two specifications pages for your printer and one apparently has incorrect paper handling sizes. This one should be correct.

https://www.usa.canon.com/shop/p/pixma-tr7120

from the above support site:

Supported Paper Sizes
4” x 6”, 5” x 5” (Square), 5” x 7”, 7” x 10”, 8” x 10”, Letter (8.5” x 11”), U.S. #10 Envelopes, Card Size (91mm x 55mm)
These Canon printers support 8.5 x 14 printing:
Canon printer models that support 8.5 x 14 inch paper printing include the Canon imageCLASS MF751Cdw II and the Canon imageCLASS MF753Cdw II, both designed for office use. Additionally, the Canon PIXMA TR8620a is also capable of printing on this paper size.

What's the best thing for me to do now that my printer cannot print on 8.5x14? It's almost 3 months old now. Thank you for your reply.

Hi again,

We'd recommend checking the return policy with the merchant you purchased it from to see if a return or exchange is possible!

Hope this helps!

Will do that. Thank you so much.
