Cannot print duplex on MX870 with Mac with El Capitan V10.11.6

Hi - I have the above mentioned mac and do not get the option to print duplex when I get the print menu. All I see are fields for

DESTINATION - PAGES - COPIES - LAYOUT - PAPER SIZE - MARGINS - OPTIONS(Headers or Background Graphics). 

In my system preferences when I select the MX870 printer and then click on settings, all I see are options for General, Supply Levels and Utility. 

There are no options anywhere on the MAC for duplex printing or do I even see it greyed out.

I beleive I have downloaded all the Canon MAC drivers for the printer.

On the printer itself, I have clicked on the Print Menu and then scrolled down and selected 2--> 2 printing but that doesn't work either.

Does anyone know how I set duplex printing either via software or hard setting? Thanks.

Hello.

Make sure that the latest CUPS Printer Driver for the printer are installed.

Visit www.usa.canon.com and search for your MX870 to download the latest driver.

If the Duplex option is still not available, find more help at Contact Us.

Hi Michael - I reloaded the driver you mentioned and then rebooted the mac. I still get the same menu that does not show the duplex print option. Can you let me know how to get this to work either via software or manually setting it on the printer (I did try that and it didn't work), maybe I did it incorrectly). Thanks.
