CP1200 print color

I purchase the printer for my wife for Christmas and finished the setup yesterday.  She has printed 1 picture from her iphone and I have printed 1 from our tower computer.  Neither printed photo is accurate with respect to the colors in the original pictures - both printed photos are darker than the original photos.  Any suggestions?
