CANON PIXMA IP100 ARM64 GENERIC DRIVER REQUEST

big6boss9

HI,

is there any estimate date for a Generic CANON driver that works on ARM64 W10 for most CANON printers?

ARM is getting more common use has the laptops are getting more thin and light.

Does anyone know a temporary solution at least for the IP100?

thanks in advance

Greetings,

You've already pointed out the fact that ARM (which is still an underdog) is coming up.  Amazon purchased Annapurna Labs. Microsoft has tried unsuccessfully IMO putting ARM processors in their surface products.

Now that Apple has adopted the M1, I think we might start seeing more driver development for ARM processors..  at least for Apple anyway.

I'm sure Canon, Brother, HP, etc...  will be on board.  I'm still not a fan, but it looks like Apple is going to move forward with it.  I think HP has started writing ARM drivers for their business class printers.

**Edit.  There is no work around.  You cannot use the Pixma Pro 100 on a windows system based on ARM CPU architecture.  Its not supported currently.  If you purchased a surface based on this hardware, I'd return it.  Otherwise you might be waiting for support (including other peripherals) that may or may not come.

It's been over a year and 1/2.  Any updates on this?  Doesn't the new emulation on windows 11 arm64 resolve this?
