CANON MX920 STOPPED PRINTING BLACK TEXT (PGBK)

jeffbon

My Canon mx920 suddenly stopped printing black text (PGBK).  However, it passes all the maintenance  tests.  It prints the PGBK grid perfectly.

Any ideas?

Hi jeffbon,

Since the PGBK Black ink will print during the nozzle check and when making Black and White copies, we will need to check your driver.

What version of Windows or Mac are you running.

We look forward to your reply.

WINDOWS 10  64 BIT

Hi jeffbon,

To continue troubleshooting this issue, please go into Devices & Printers (under COntrol Panel) and attempt to print a test page from the printer's driver.

After printing the test page, remove the printer from the printer list and reinstall the driver from the Canon website. Click HERE to access the most current driver available. Once the new driver is installed, restart the computer and perform a test print from the computer again.

I saw the reply for Windows.  Can you help me with my Mac?  Thank you.

Hi kmelickercik,

I am going to assume that you own the PIXMA MX922 and youir PIXMA MX922 is not printing black.

When you printed the Nozzle Check, does the black grid appear at the top of the page?

Yes, the nozzle check came out fine; however, it's still printing red not black.

kmelichercik,

Please follow these steps:

 1.  Turn your PIXMA MX922 on.

 2.  Press the MENU button on your PIXMA MX922.

 3.  Select Setup and press OK.

 4.  Select Device Settings and press OK.

 5.  Use the up or down arrows to select LAN settings and press OK.

 6.  Use the up or down arrows to select Confirm LAN settings and press OK.

 7.  Use the up or down arrows to select Print LAN details and press OK.

 8.  Use the up or down arrows to select Yes and press OK.

Does that page print correctly?
