Anyone know how to make a CanoScan 8800f Flatbed scanner (2007 vintage) work on my 27" iMac?

Hi, SteveW!

So that the Community can help you better, we will need to know exactly which version of Mac OS is running on your computer. That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!

If this is a time-sensitive matter, our US-based technical support team is standing by, ready to help 24/7 via Email at http://bit.ly/EmailCanon or by phone at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) weekdays between 10 AM and 10 PM ET (7 AM to 7 PM PT).

Thanks and have a great day!

Danny,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I'm using OS X 10.9.1 Maverick on a 27" iMac.  Downloaded the MP Navigator EX, ScanGear, OmniPage SE and Manuals from the original "Set up CD-ROM" U1.1 QH7-3372-01.   I open up the MP Nav from the Canon Utilities in my app folder.

When I follow directions to scan a document with my preferences per the menu boxes, the little colored wheel turns until I have to "force quit".  Are the 2007 drivers just not recognized properly by the later Mac technology?  Could there be later Canon drivers that would make it work?   I'm not a computer guru....

It's a great scanner that I haven't used much since the year I bought it (2007), but now have a need for.

Appreciate any guidance.

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks Danny,

I did call Canon tech support and spoke with a pleasant, patient and knowledgeable young man who lead me through updating the drivers and software for the scanner through the Canon website.  Works perfectly now.

Thanks,

Steve
