I have a PowerShot Pro90 IS from 2002. It's 21 years old, fully functional, and still taking excellent images. Thanks Canon! Providing great products for decades.
Unfortunately, the software that came with the camera, ZoomBrowser EX (V. 2.6.0.11), works great on our old XP based computer. That's right,,,I have an XP laptop up and running and this old software runs just fine on it.
I'd like to get an app (or a fix) that allows me to transfer images to my Windows 10 system directly from the camera.
Currently, I have to remove the data card and read it with my USB card reader accessory. 👎
I prefer NOT to take my card in and out of the camera every few shots for inspecting images. Something about data connections and dust makes me nervous. Moving images through a USB cable is a better (safer?) way to go.
I see that Canon has another app called ImageBrowser EX and I'm wondering if that software is compatible with Windows 10.
If so, how can I obtain a copy of ImageBrowser EX, and if it's not Win10 compatible, what are my options for transferring images from my camera via USB cable?
Thanks for any suggestions offered. 😀

Well, I tried the link you sent. The download went as expected. I unzipped the .exe file, closed all programs, and started the installation. Unfortunately, the installation failed at this error screen.
The next screen is the "Finish" screen.
So, I tried it again and I noticed one of the screens said this was the "ImageBrowser EX updater". The installation failed because "The application may not have been installed properly." The website made it look like I was downloading the app, not an updater app. I'm not sure why the installation failed. The application was definitely not installed properly.
So, I uninstalled all the Canon software that was on this machine, rebooted, and tried the installation for ImageBrowser EX again. The installation failed again at the same point.
I tried a third time without the camera connected, but that didn't work either. It kept looking for a camera for about 20 seconds before I connected the camera and then the installation proceeded until the error screen shown above.
Well now, I guess I've exhausted all the options for resolving my USB connectivity issue with this camera.
Conclusion: I guess I'm stuck moving the media in and out of this camera.
At this point, I don't see a way to move forward or any other options to try. This camera hasn't reached the end of it's lifetime yet, so it will be slightly crippled from here to the end.
I want to thank all the contributors who helped me troubleshoot and define the problem.
I truly appreciate your suggestions and time.
I think this ends this discussion and so we can all get out there and start imaging the world around us. 😀 Take care folks.

I think you are overlooking the obvious here. Canon does not own, control, or create MS Windows. Your camera uses an obsolete RS-232 port. I recommend that you either upgrade your camera, or find an old 20 year old computer to use, instead.

Since the program turned out to be an updater, you must first install the program from your camera's CD, and then install the updater. According to the manual, it came with Image Browser on the CD.
