Just switched from a Windows Platform to Mac (1st time ever).  Want to use my Powershot A4000 IS on the Mac to download pictures.  Can't find the appropriate software; not sure if it exist!  My specific OS is Ventura 13.5.2; listed are Monterey, Big Sur, Catalina, Mojave, High Sierra and many more but not Venture!

Or, don't bother with the card reader: plug in the camera and Image Capture should open automagically, if it doesn't , run it so it knows what to do when you plug in the camera.

Fantastic!  I was thinking about alternatives and your recommendation did crossed my mind.  I'm an old school Windows user since Windows 3.1.  Very new to apple. Greatly appreciate your response.

Use a card reader and download using the Apple provided software Image Capture. You don’t need any Canon software to download images.

Great!  Now I have alternatives.  Thanks!

Ventura has an issue of inconsistent behavior sometimes with USB connections.
