I have been having a hard time editing a .MOV file from a video shot with a Mark III 5D. I have Adobe Premier and it said invalid file type, I tried to download software from the Canon website for my camera but I couldn't get anything to work. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello Chesstercj,
You would be able to view your clips on your computer through the Canon EOS Movie Utility 1.2. You can download that software from the Canon web site, here.
At this time we are unable to provide support or software solutions for third party applications. Perhaps the software says invalid file because it is not updated to the most current version and or does not have the appropriate plugins to support these file types.

I think you should use Capcut, it is a great video editor.

chesstercj,
My suggestion would be to convert your .Mov file to an Mp4 file.
There are plenty of free video conversion programs out there. There are also conversion sites online who will do the conversion for you.
