Has anyone had trouble tethering the Canon R6 Mark II? I can tether with "Lightroom" but its inconsistent and "Capture One" doesn't even recognize the camera. Any recommendations or help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks.

I ended up sending camera into canon and they replaced the motherboard. it then worked just fine for a while. Just this past week I went to teather and could not get images to come to the computer again. I can see and operate the camera with Eos Utility 3 and capture one on both a mac and windows computer. I can live view with each method so I know the connection is there. I can use the cable and transfer files directly from the camera to laptop, but if I am trying to teather shoot, images do not come to laptop. I have now created another ticket and have to send body back in.

You must tell the app where to save your files.

Did you ever solve the issue? I encountered a similar issue with my R5 and Capture One and my Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 after I updated to Windows 11. By the time I used C1, I was past the rollback period. The only software I could use was EOS Utilities, which was OK, but I needed other options for tethering at times. Eventually, after battling this for nine months, I bit the bullet and bought a new computer. Problem solved. That said, I haven tried tethering my R6 II. I’ve just finished a week-long shoot in the studio using my R5 and C1. Had I seen this before, I probably would have experimented the end of one of the days. My other issue may be I’m using the last version of C1 for which they issued a perpetual license. I won’t do a subscription for C1.
I haven’t tried tethering with Lightroom. I’ve always found it a bit clunky compared to several other programs I own. For programs like C1, I do a new session each day, otherwise it bogs down with all my shots. (I shoot around 400-600GB on a week-long shoot.) Lightroom would be even worse because of the database overhead. I can suggest a couple of other tether programs that might work and are not as costly. One is Smart Shooter 5, which you can buy through Tether Tools.

Canon apps are not supported on upgraded operating systems.

Hi. What is the definition of an upgraded operating system? My PC came with W7 and now runs W10. My MacBook installs a new macOS every year. Neither one has a problem with running the Canon apps.
