Rumor - R5 mkII Firmware Coming This Month

A firmware release for the R5 mkII is rumored to be in the pipeline and is expected later this month.  Its likely to precipitate the RF 28-70 f2.8 ship date of 9/26.

Many are looking for button customizations, Pre-Capture on/off, Waveform on/off, etc

Others want to see expanded support for features when using the camera with an older LP-E6NH batteries.  Like using Wi-Fi for Canon Connect, and being able to shoot 4k 24p.  30p (29.97) is all that's supported currently.

This is not a feature request thread, its intended to inform.  Feature requests and enhancements should be made on the Canon USA website.  Top right-hand corner [+]Feedback > Product.

Good news for all the new R5 mkII owners out there. 😎

Thanx, Rick!

I'm sure there will be many more, and that's why I'm holding off on getting this gem 😉 My R5 and R6 II are doing the job quite nicely, so I'm in no hurry 🙂

Doesn't appear to have the additional customised buttons that was talked about. Also the Canon HQ site doesn't have an updated instruction manual for the new firmware so I think there's no new functionality with this firmware.

I couldn't find it on the USA site, but I did snag the latest DPP 4 v4.19.30 🙂
