I was happy to see the EOS utility update, hoping that since Mac released the OS in October of last year, Canon would FINALLY make the software compatable.
Looks like my hopes didn't play out 😭.
My r5 tethers instantly and without a hitch to Capture One. Eos utility will only launch once when I restart my computer. So I have to restart computer everytime I want to use it.
C'mon Canon, let's get this software working!

Just for the benefit of anyone who comes across this thread. The solve for me was to turn off the Dropbox app. Hope the Canon engineers can make it compatable in the future, but in the meantime this is a fix.

Seriously, I have never experienced this software working with my Mac. I don't have the Dropbox app. Grrrr

Thanks a million! Closing the Dropbox app made it work for me too.
Note: Canon R5 firmware 1.6.0 with an MBA running macOS Ventura 13.5.1
