Air drop photos - not uploading in app


When I get a photo airdropped and saved in my phone photos, it’s not appearing in the recents or uploading in the app. Does it take a little bit? Is there a way to refresh? I’ve tried both and I’m curious how to set up where any new photos taken or added to my phones photo album can automatically be updated in the canon app photo album … help!

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and the device I bought is the Canon Ivy mini photo printer 2nd generation
