Canon computer app doesn't see EOS Rebel T3i for photo upload

I have a Canon Rebel T3i and I have tried to upload photos from my camera to computer by downloading the canon app. However, the app does not have my camera so I cannot connect my camera. Do I have to manually transfer them by buying like a hard drive? Anyone have any recommendations/tips?

Greetings ,

Unfortunately, the T3i is not supported by the Canon Connect App.

Here are some options for you:

You can use the Canon EOS utility and cable to transfer images from your camera to your computer. Note that you will need version 2.x  due to the age of your body.

You can use a card reader.  These are inexpensive and can be purchased from Amazon, B&H photo or Best Buy.  This might be the best way to go.

On macOS you could use a USB cable and the "Image Capture" program that comes with macOS. On Linux you could use a USB cable and gphoto2 which is free software. https://github.com/gphoto/gphoto2

Since I have retired and no longer have an employer to require it, I do not do Windows.
