Eos Utility 3 App won't open or Immediately Crashes on Mac Mini 2

Hello, I just posted the below help request in another old post and would really appreciate it if someone out there could offer some assistance.

Hi, I have R6 MK2 and have installed the EOS utility 3 app on my Mac Mini 2 so that I can instal the latest firmware V1.5. But the EOS 3 app either won't open or crashes immediately.

After installing the eos 3 app, I restarted my mac but nothing happens. I connected a SD card to my mac and opened the firmware on my desktop and attempted to "drag n drop" onto the SD card, a message read that the firmware  already existed on the SD card but on checking, it's empty. Iv'e also attempted to connect my R6 direct to my Mac Mini 2 but all I get on the camera screen is the Mac and Keyboard silhouette with no link up to my Mac. I'm virus free but now at a loss how to proceed.

My OS is Sonoma 14.7.1 I know that's replaced by Sequoia but it was so "buggy" that Iv'e stayed with Sonoma and the Eos utility included OS Sonoma too.

Any help or advice much appreciated

Hi, I'm using EOSU V 3.8.41 this v was for os Ventura, and a canon note stated that there wasn't a version for my os, Sonoma, but another canon site/page stated that it was for Sonoma and Sequoia too, and that's where I downloaded it from.

I made sure that Anything else that could access my R6 MK ll was closed. I then restarted my mac, opened EOSU then connected my R6. Various messages appeared in the Eos utility and it was kind of hit and miss, but eventually I got to the current firmware version and navigated to the downloaded v1.5 and installed that into my R6.

So a really big thank you for your knowledge, and forbearance. I spent at least 12 hours on this which I started just before the Christmas break. I have the chance of a used mint 24-70 f2.8 so I may well have a go at that.

Once again, many thanks for your input, really appreciated, and a Happy New Year to all.

Best
