Hi,
I am new to cameras and photography and recently picked up a Canon 6D mk II. I am trying to download my first pictures, so downloaded the most recent EOS utility from the canon website. I also ran the updater just in case to make sure I had the latest version. I could not find the original USB cable so picked up a spare that was lying around, but was unable to connect. No problem, I thought, I'll try the wifi. I managed to connect via wifi from a laptop computer, and it auto-started the EOS utility (3 I believe). I coud see all the photos, but when I tried to bulk downlaod them, the program crashed after downloading the first. I restarted the utility and tried to download again, but it keeps saying the camera is "busy". I tried the auto download, and then downloading a single photo at a time, and the behaviour was repeated each time. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Dan

I suggest that you try a different cable. Make sure that it is a USB data cable, not just a charging cable. A better idea is use a USB card reader. Perhaps the best idea is to use the SD Card reader built into most PC sold lately.

Thanks, you are right, maybe the old way is best. I will also try wifi download on my phone and see if that works.

Wi-Fi is the slowest transfer method of them all. You may need to delete and then re-install the software.
