Recently I've been playing with Canon DPP and Canon's own custom picture styles like emerald and nostalgia you find here: Canon : Picture Style
Yesterday after closing and opening too many pictures, the software crashed. Since then, I am not able to restart the software. It starts then after a few seconds crashes. I've tried uninstalling it, restarting the PC, even using CCleaner to clean the registry with no success. The software still keeps crashing at startup. Somewhere this software puts a settings file somewhere, that somehow got corrupted.
Does anybody know where DPP puts files other than in program files? Or another way to reset the software?

Nevermind, I finally found it with the help of ChatGPT.
If anybody has the same issues, delete the Canon DPP4 folders in:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\CANON_INC
and
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Canon

Greetings,
It may have to do with where your images are stored. If possible, move them out of the current directory and see if DPP will open and run.
There is an option to reset DPP but it has to be done from the preferences menu in the program.
