EOS Utility not working with EOS Rebel XS, macOS 10.15.7

I'm trying to get Remote Shooting working with my laptop, but have spent a few hours without success. I'm using a Rebel XS connected to a MacBook Pro running macOS 10.15.7. I've tried EOS Utility 1, 2, and 3 to no avail. Has anyone had success getting this configuration to work? (If it makes a difference, I'm using a mini USB to USB 3 cable - i.e. one that connects the camera to the laptop with no adapters.)

Since Image Capture sees the camera the connection is good.

Check the Security tab in System Prefernces and see if you need to authorize EOSU to access files and folders.

Greetings,

The PIN out on the cable you are using might be the issue.  Does the MAC recognize the camera at all?

Yes, I'm able to see it in Image Capture

I've tried both 2 and 3 without success... but thanks!

What version of EOSU 2 do you have?

Version 2.14.31

Since Image Capture sees the camera the connection is good.

Check the Security tab in System Prefernces and see if you need to authorize EOSU to access files and folders.

Thank you, jrhoffman75 - that did it!

You might try switching modes of the camera between PTP and PC communication.
