When I started up my new MacBook Pro with an M4 chip (running Sequoia), I was prompted that I needed to install a Canon upgrade to match this version of computer.
Now when I tether my 5D MARK IV and start EOS3 it gives me this message: Communication with the camera via USB cannot be established. Start EOS Utility after closing all the apps that communicate with the camera, and then turn on the camera again.
Doing this does not help me connect to the Utility. I have no apps (Lightroom) open.
Is there a Canon update that works with Mac Silicon hardware?

I am having the same problem, but with M3 Macbook Air and EOS R7. EOS Utility Version 3.19.0.12. Please help! Thanks!

In another thread I found out that there was a conflict between EOS3 and the Webcam Utility, but uninstalling it didn't due to a process I couldn't get to stop or go away. I found the solution in another thread - drag the EOS Webcam Utility to the Trash to uninstall it and then go to Library ▸ CoreMediaIO ▸ Plug-Ins ▸ DAL ▸ EOSWebcamUtility.plugin and delete the plugins at this location. This last part I found here: https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/EOS-Webcam-Utility-Pro/Uninstall-Webcam-Utility-Beta-for-Mac/m-p/...
Hope this helps you, to. It made my day! Thanks again Davey83!
