When I am trying to connect my Canon R5 Mk II to the EOS Utility 3.19 for Mac using Mac OS 15.6.1 I get the following error: Communication with the camera via USB cannot be established.
Start EOS Utility after closing all the apps that communicate with the camera, and then turn on the camera again. I cannot resolve this. Any ideas?

Do you have any apps that would try to download images, like DropBox?
Is Wi-Fi switched off on the camera?
If all you want to do is download images using Apple Image Capture is a better choice.

I am trying to add IPTC which you can only do through the utility.

A number of people have problems with that. I do not (MacBook Air) so can't help.
If you don't get any responses tonight give Canon support a call tomorrow 1-800-OK-CANON.
