EOS Utility How to disable AF when I hover over the shutter button

Hello! Using EOS Utility with Canon EOS R8 for video shooting. The shutter button function in-camera is set to “metering only” when half-pressed. When I hover my cursor over the shutter button in EOS Utility, it does indeed display the exposure meter, but it also re-focuses. Any way to disable this focusing in EOS Utility?

halfpinched,

I think, but I can't be certain, that when you tether your camera this way, that bypasses any back button focusing you might be using when not tethered.

No other button has been assigned to the focusing process.

I think.

EOSU is intended for remote tethered shooting. If you don't want the camera to focus when you actuate the shutter you would need to set the lens to MF mode.
