I have an EOS M50 that gets recognized as soon as I plug it in to my iMac. When I plug in my R6, nada. Both have wi-fi disabled. My M50 doesn't even have the latest firmware update. My R6 does. Also, the cable works with other devices. My last thought it the USB port on the R6 isn't functioning, but I don't know how to test it.

I don't know if this is your problem, but my 1D X Mark III also has a SuperSpeed USB port and I had problems connecting until I used a high speed cable. Canon IFC-100U is one; Amazon also sells them.

John, that did the trick. I tried another cable unknown if it was SuperSpeed (it wasn't marked). Also, I have an older mac with only USB-A ports, so I really lucked out.
Thank you.
