Canon Rebel T3i EOS Utility software needed but no CD-ROM available?

Hello, I am needing to upload some photos from my Canon Rebel T3i camera, to the computer, but there is no software on this new computer I have and there is also no CD-ROM. I have been searching for awhile but cannot find a way to download it without using the CD.I found an article called "Install the Software from the EOS DIGITAL Solution Desk From The Canon Website" but it actually says the solution is to install the software using the disk and there is no link to download anything from the website. I searched all the software under the camera type and I can also not find those programs needed.

I do not have the time to wait for a external CD-ROM and I live rurally so cannot just go get one. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance

If you go to this Canon Support page:

https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/eos-rebel-t3i?_gl=1*1hgzd8a*_gcl_au*MTA2NzQ5ODY0Ni4xNzM3MjYxODgw...

and tell it what kind of operating system you have and what version you have, it will list the software you can download. EOS Utility should be there. (Probably at the bottom of the list). You can also download a Manual for how to use EOS Utility.

Just at random, I picked Windows and Windows 10, and EOS Utility was there.

Do you have Windows or a Mac?

Another option is to buy a card reader. You take the memory card out of your camera, put it in the card reader, and plug the other end of the card reader into the USB port on your computer.

The computer will read the card reader as another device and list the files on the card. From there, you can copy and paste from the card to your computer. Just make sure you get a reader that can read the type of card you have (SDXC or SDHC for example).

I did this and it only gives me the option to download the EOS utility updater, so when I download the file and try to open it, it says there is no cd in.

I assume you are using Windows? If so, on the support page for the T3i (the link Steve posted), select Windows 8 as your OS. Now look for "EOS Digital Solution Disk Software 29.1A for Windows". It is there, I just checked, but you may have to click the "Load More" icon. You will also need the "Updater" you found as well.

Install 29.1A, then run the Updater.

allysphotos,

Sorry about that. I don't think have a T3i, so I didn't follow it all the way through to actually download the software.

Sorry you're having troubles.

If your computer isn't recognizing your camera as a drive, there could be a fault with one of your ports, or like you say, it could be your cables. You could try a card reader as suggested, or try different cables. I myself use the cable that was recommended in my manual.

You DO NOT NEED ANY SOFTWARE just to get photos from camera to computer. Besides using a card reader as SteveT1 said, you can just connect camera to computer with a USB cable.....the camera end is USB Mini-B. The other end is whatever type USB port your computer has......USB-A or -C depending on how old it is. The camera should appear as a drive in Windows File Explorer or the Mac Desktop. You open it, open the DCIM folder, and move files to wherever you want.

Okay, this isn’t happening. So is something wrong with the cord? I followed the instructions on the support site to plug it in. Nothing comes up when it plugs in, and my PC isn’t making any sound. Says there are no devices plugged in or anything.

The camera's are a bit finicky so try a couple different cables. I had the same issue with several of my bodies until I found one that worked. Once I nailed it down I wrapped a couple spins of white electrical tape around it and know which one to grab.

Two great suggestions to download images without software. I'll just add a great, fast, inexpensive card reader in case you don't have one, it's on Amazon.
