AMD Ryzen AI 9 XY 370 with Radeon 890M and NVidea RTX 4050. Would like suggestions on how to get Canon support. Please do not bother with the following suggestions as I've tried them all multiple times:
1) Updates - OS, WIFI or graphics Drivers, DPP, Uninstall and removed all of the potentially corrupted config files for a clean install of DPP - done all of that several times
2) Change memory usage for DPP, GPUs, etc. Everything is set for highest performance and background updates of the SW are allowed max bandwidth, etc. Done several memory tweaks to ensure ample memory is available.
3) DID change prefs on DPP to ensure that "last folder" was no longer selected (it was a NAS) and default folders are on the SSD (c: drive).
DPP works fine with WIFI off, spins endlessly as soon as WIFI is turned on on and maxes out the bandwidth looking for....??? DPP won't start (endless spinning) with WIFI on. Stats normally with it off. Seems like a "smoking gun" that some DPP developer or guru might have run upon before. I will try a full removal of files an clean install once again and see if the file locations are still on the NAS - if that's the case I might have missed a preferences file somewhere.
Getting to my wits end and thought someone here might have a clue - just a hobbyist, so not any REAL urgency. Just wish I hadn't updated my DPP to the latest version, and/or performed the system update, and it was working fine before and not now. Updating is not always the right answer it seems!

I fully understand the software and hardware requirements for running DPP. I am just trying to help SignifDigits with the problem he is having. I am running DPP on 2 laptops that are almost the same setup he has and am not having problems. I do think that the problem is in his WIFI connection. That is why I asked him to try an ethernet connection.

Thanks a good idea. I don't have wired Ethernet and neither does the laptop, but I have a usb-c docking station with a wired port and can connect that up to a mesh node. LOTS of moving parts in that scenario, but I will give it a try in the next day or two.

Yes, meets all of the requirements - AMD processors are not excluded.

No cloud storage. I have a NAS for storage of data files and have "Photos", "Documents", etc mapped to the NAS, but this has never been a problem until now. Even when DDP WAS pointed to "Photos" via the "last folder displayed" on the NAS it used to come up and work. I undid that option, did a clean reinstall with no positive effect.

Can you please be more explicit with that response? I don't see what is missing from the requirements. I'll be sure to pass to the forums and to Asus that their high-end ProArt is NOT platform for Canon DPP users if that's the case, though!

“ Yes, meets all of the requirements - AMD processors are not excluded. “
The prerequisites call for Intel Chipsets with an OEM installed OS. Upgraded Operating Systems are not supported.

He is referring to the system requirements needed to run the software.
They are found here: (scroll down a bit)
Technically an AMD based system is not supported. Its not stated but Intel is recommended. (For windows)
Since it worked previously, what about trying system restore?
Also, run SFC /scannow from an elevated command prompt.
I have several older installers if you need one. 4.18.x, 4.19.x, 4.20.x.
I just upgraded to 4.20.11, but all of my windows systems are Intel based, no issues.
Have you looked at the System Event Viewer for possible error information?

Ahh. I should have said UPDATED (latest patches) - that's what I meant by "upgraded". It's the OEM Windows 11, just fully updated, as are all of the drivers, etc.

I was poking around looking for 4.18 to see if the pay-for feature AI feature had to be "touched" somehow. Saying Intel is recommended isn't the same as saying it's required, so I would say "technically, an AMD system IS supported" (as it's not NOT supported) 🙂 I mean, really there are a LOT of AMD systems out there and if it's NOT supported shouldn't that be explicit?
Good idea on the event viewer. System errors for ServiceControlManager and DistributedCOM (supposed to be a permission issue?). Lots of warnings in System for DNS Client Events, DistributedCOM and Win32K, and a few Win32k and WinSrvExt. (is DPP 64-bit?) App errors for CerfitifcateServicesClient-CertEnroll (cert authority errors - not sure what is reaching out to a CA) and SideBySide (seems to be a C++ redistributable missing). Hmm. seems I need to research some of this - (which is to say I'm WAY in over my head on the Windows stuff) and see if there aren't some other issues on this system. Thinking I'll just ensure all of the data is off and do a clean restore at this point and see what happens. That won't be soon, most likely as I don't NEED DPP to work, but I DO need th computer to not be running malware or running amok either.
