This seems like poor support to not make obvious or explain why it is not there or where it is!!

Clynch,

Connecting your camera to your phone is not really a feature of firmware.

What you want to do with your Android phone is go to the Google Play Store and download an app called, "Canon Camera Connect".

This app will allow you to use your phone to operate your camera, or to download pictures from it.

YOUR OWN SITE SAYS THAT THE LATEST FIRMWARE FIXES ANDROID CONNECTION ISSUES!!!!!

Firmware Notice: EOS Rebel T7i: Firmware Version 1.1.0

Firmware Version 1.1.0 incorporates the following enhancement:

1. Enables NFC connection with smartphones running Android 10 operating system.
• For Android running v6.0 or later, use Camera Connect v2.7.10 or later.
• For Android running v5.0 or older, use a connection method other than NFC.

Firmware Version 1.1.0 is for cameras with firmware up to Version 1.0.2. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.1.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

In the USA, if you have not registered your camera with Canon, you may not be able to download the firmware - you do not indicate whether that is the case or not.
However, to assist you, I have found a Canon site where you can download the latest version (which is cumulative) without doing so.  While the site is Australian, I have updated from this location before for North American cameras with no issue.
EOS Rebel T7i / 800D Firmware Update, Version 1.1.0 [Windows] | Canon Australia
I hope this resolves your issue.

Welcome clynch,

While the Canon Community is moderated, it is a user to user support forum.  So the majority of people here are fellow photography enthusiast like yourself.  You will often see moderators and product experts (Canon employees) lending a hand as well.

To receive official product support directly from Canon, you do need to register your product and open a support request.  This is done via MyCanon.

MyCanon

Once your product is registered, you are presented with the different support options available for your product.  How to contact. repairs, software support, etc.

You appear to have found a product whose firmware download is missing on its support site.  It might be temporary or maybe an oversight.  Easily resolved by contacting support.  In this case, Trevor offered you a workaround to get the software you requested.

There was a period of time where some products had their firmware listings moved to the Advisory section on the product support site.  It caused some confusion and was moved back to Software and Drivers.  Not ideal, I understand and there appears to be an issue with the downloads which I will report.

Most users here are volunteers, people like you and I who share an affinity for photography.  Also for Canons other products.  We are happy to try and help and appreciate your participation. If you do need official support, its available.

Rick, thanks for that clarification on registration.
