I want to put CameraWindow on a new install of Windows 11.I looked for the latest version on Canon's website for my “PowerShot ELPH 100 HS. However it says “PowerShot ELPH 100 HS has been retired. Product support is no longer available. Driver and content updates are not being made.”
So I installed CameraWindow from the disc that came with the camera.. It always worked with Windows 10 but is not working with Windows 11. It does detect the camera.
I looked in the various folders & tried to manually launch the program.
Clicking on MyCamera.exe says “A supported device cannot be found.”
Trying to run CameraLauncher.exe says “Cannot detect camera.”
However Windows Control Panel > Device Manager shows it as a Portable Device/MTP USB Device. Right clicking on that & “Scan for hardware changes” changes the description to the actual model of the camera.
If I go into Windows > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices, the camera is listed under Other devices as Canon Digital Camera, and after about 30 seconds it changes to the actual camera model .
Windows 11 knows the camera is connected but the software won’t recognize it.
I’ve done the Uninstall device > Scan for hardware changes but that didn’t work.
Any suggestions on how to get this working?
