CR3 files from Canon R6 Mark II - Can't preview in macOS Monterey

I'm using a MacBook Pro running macOS Monterey 12.7.6.  That's the latest OS version I'm able to update.  I'm having trouble being able to preview the CR3 files as thumbnails.  I can't seem to open them in Preview either.  Is there a way to resolve this?  I downloaded Canon Digital Photo Professional, which has helped me view these CR3 files.  But if it's possible to get to see these files as thumbnails or in Preview that would be great too.

Unfortunately you need a more recent Mac OS that supports the EOS R6 Mark II to be able to view the thumbnails in finder or preview.
