I have .cr2 images but when they are uploaded to Digital Photo Pro they are blank and when converted show up as not processed for errors. The images are there -- I can see them on my camera and when downloaded in Windows they are present both graphically and in size. Any suggestoins? thanks!

To rule out the download process as a source of corruption, try copying the images from a card reader instead of downloading them.
Also be sure that you're using a version of DPP recent enough to be compatible with the camera. The .CR2 format is not identical for all cameras.

What camera? Which version fo Windows? Which version of DPP?
There is also the possibility that your installation of DPP is corrupted, and may need to be re-installed.

If you are shooting an XS with RAW + JPEG, there is something wrong with the RAWs. I was never able to get it to work. That being said, the new DPP does not work with older cameras, you need to check the list of supported ones.

Just to clarify.
The newest version of DPP 3 will work with older cameras, and you should make sure you have the latest version.
It is DPP 4 that will not work with older cameras.

We do not know whether the OP has an XS. I am pointing out two issues:
When you shoot the XS in RAW+JPEG, the RAWS are unreadable by DPP3 (4 did not even exist when I tested it!)
DPP4 does not handle all the Canon DSLR's

I realized the OP didn't say they had a Rebel XS and had already updated my post accordingly.
