Rebel T6 GP-E2 not working, GPS settings greyed out

Robrob04

Hello I just recently purchased a GP-E2 for my rebel T6. I see the settings for GPS but the option is greyed out and the battery light and GPS light at the top of the device are blinking simultaneously every 6 seconds or so. On the manual it states that it is supposed to do that but I still cannot click the GPS device settings. I am also on firmware 1.1.0. Thanks for any help!

You might also make sure that WIFI is off, I think that disables the USB.

Also, make sure you are in a "creative setting" like P. Being in A+ can disable certain menu items.

Did you use the cable that comes with it?

Yes and it still does not work.

Try turning on the GPS before you turn on the camera.

Does the USB port work with the computer?

I am sure not, but are you seeing the GPS symbol when in live view?

Yep you are correct. I spoke with a canon representative and he told me the same thing and now it is working. WIFI has to be disabled in order for GPS settings to work.
