hi, sadly i had to buy a new flash for R6MII (will not use multiadapter). so is the LCE6 the ONLY charger for this battery? (LP EL)?? never in my life have i used a charger where 1/3 of the battery hangs off. either way-my blinking light never turns green... google says bad battery? seems unlikely since brand new. anyone else have this problem or the solution?
is there a charger for the LP EL that actually fits the battery and works? thanks.

The LC-E6 is the correct charger for the LP-EL battery. All older Canon EX and 5 pin EL series speedlites work on your camera. The adapter is only needed for weather sealing. The legacy 5 pins are there for older Canon Speedlites to work. Only the EOS R50 requires the adapter for older flashes to work. So what flash did you replace with the new EL-5 with.

The LCE6 is the correct charger for the LP-EL battery.
LP-EL is supplied in the box with both Speedlite EL-1 and Speedlite EL-5. Speedlite EL-1 also includes an LCE6 battery charger. I have used the LP-EL battery and successfully charged it with a number of different LCE6 chargers that I have "collected" since 2014 (probably even before then).

hi-how many hours to charge?? usually batteries charge in a few hours. i was already on almost 17 hrs (left in overnight because it was first time charging) well if this Is the right charger and the charger works fine with other batteries then it has to be THE BATTERY i guess. surprised a brand new battery would be defective. was asking if anyone else had similar experience. thanks.

Greetings,
I haven't done any research into this but I suggest you use the charger that came with your flash to charge its battery.

Speedlite EL-5 is supplied with the LP-EL rechargeable battery, but no charger in the box. Strangely Canon decided for the Speedlite EL-5 not to include a suitable charger.
Speedlite EL-5 can be fitted on the hotshoe of…

hi brian. i know all this. i m asking why won't my blinking light go to green after overnight charging??
(also was curious about any other chargers. i never had a charger where battery hangs off. i get that the pins are in the front.)

My apologies, I was trying to clarify this for Rick as he suggested using the supplied charger - and there is none.
For me the LCE6 will give a green light when the LP-EL is charged, and then when the battery is in the Speedlite it shows as full. I agree that it feels a little bit of an odd design for a Canon charger.

definitely. so how many hours to fully charge?

you didn't completely read.. there is no charger included and this IS the recommended one. my question is -why can't i get a green light on this charger if it is the correct model.
