What specifically are you trying to do? Did you perhaps insert the SD card into your TV? For those TVs that have SD card slots, the media that can be played would be dependent upon the manufacturer.
You should be able to connect the camcorder to the TV via an HDMI cable and then play the footage on the cam.
Or, edit the video to an appropriate format that the TV would be able to consume.
