Thank you for posting. USB microphones will not work with the VIXIA HF R30. However, you can use Canon's WM-V1 Wireless Microphone. You can also use commercially available condenser microphones. You can use almost any stereo microphone that has a 3.5mm connector on it, as long as it is self-powered.
