Transfer utility?

I have a VIXIA HF R50 camcorder.  I haven't used it for a couple of years.  I want to transfer some new video to my computer for editing in Pinnacle Studio.  User manual says to use Transfer Utility LE.  I have version 1.1.0 and used to use it.  Info says it was discontinued 2/13/20.  But the Canon website says to use it.  It's not recognizing my camcorder.  What should I use to get video into my computer?  Thanks.

As long as the camcorder is set to playback mode and connected by USB you should be able to access it otherwise dependent on your operating system. Windows 10 would show it in the File Explorer and on most current Mac computers you should be able to access the SD card through a program called Image Capture.
