HF R600 Image Transfer Utility won't accept serial number

I have a HF R600 that I would like to use. The problem is that when I load up the transfer utility on my computer it asks for the serial number of the camera. When I input the number I get a message that it is incorrect. Maybe since the camera and software are old that the canon server has been turned off.
Is there a work around or some other software that I can use?

The Canon VIXIA HF R600 is not currently compatible with the Image Transfer Utility. Per review of the support page for this camcorder, the CameraWindow DC software is compatible with the camcorder and is supported up to Microsoft Windows 10. You may click on the following link to visit the product support page for the camcorder where the software can be downloaded. Please note software for macOS is not available.
