Canon vixia hf g10 randomly freezes

I have canon vixia hf g10  and it randomly freezes then once it does that none of the buttons on the camcorder work the only way to fix it is by removing the battery and putting it back in I don't know if it's the firmware or something internal

Hello Western_gp22,

There is no firmware available for the VIXIA HF G10, so your product firmware should not be an issue. We do ask that you use only genuine Canon batteries to power the unit. You may want to try cleaning the contacts on the battery with a clean, dry, microfiber cloth. Dirty contacts could cause an issue like this. Do not use any kind of solution when trying this. You can try a separate battery as well to see if that helps if possible. I would also suggest cleaning the memory card contacts since the camcorder does provide an electrical signal throughout these items when the power is on. A break in the signal could cause performance issues with the camcorder. You can try a different memory card as well for further troubleshooting. Are there any errors or messages displayed when the camcorder "freezes"?
