My camera was on the tripod and tipped over. It works, but it broke off the clip that holds the battery in the battery compartment. The support site says the camera is too old to be fixed.
Any suggestions on getting a replacement part, etc?
Thanks for any help!

Greetings,
Sorry to hear about your accident. Given the location of the retention clip (bottom) and how protected the battery is it must have hit just right to break. Unfortunately, you are at or near the 10 yr old point.
If Canon won't help due to age, you have limited options.
eBay
midwestcamera repair
eBay - Maybe yo can find an old body (broken) for parts
I do not know if MCR does video cameras, you would have to call or submit a repair request online. The other issue will be finding a place who has or can source the part(s).
