I shot some video comparisons when I had the comarable camcorders. I like the Canon overall. Interesting how different the color is. The Canon does lean more towards yellow outdoors. Red light can be a tad pink. The SONY is a bit too sharp. The Canon's is smoother.
I shot it at 1280x720 because the SONY shoots AVCHD 1080. Canon can shoot multiple MP4 quality settings in addition to AVCHD which is nice. I don't have the conversion software such as ClipWrap for the Mac becasue I returned the SONY and I don't burn Blu-Rays or just show footage on HDTV.
