I periodically get an LCD message - Cannot Scan from ADF

Very frustrated in not being able to copy/scan from the ADF on my MX 410 All in One. LCD message reads: "Cannot scan from ADF". What causes this kind of problem ? All help is accepted.

Stephen (Moderator) - I have a similar issue, I think. My ADF won't scan copies. It's been finicky - sometimes "yes", and sometimes "no". Jst
