My MacBook Air can not link up to our PIXMA MX452

A couple of days ago I could print from the PIXMA MX452 but could not scan.  Now it won't do anything.  I have a paperweight instead of a printer.  

My Macbook Air can print but can not scan from my MX450

I don't know what else to say.  This is very very frustrating.
