Thanks for your suggestions, Ramona. It turned out that once all the updates had been made (which took a very long time) to the newly installed Windows 7 OS, the operating system recognized and installed the printer without a problem. Bill

I was referring to the manual on my computer, not on the Internet or website. I have since discovered that it can be accessed from one of the icons that was placed on my computer's desktop when I installed the printer. Hope this helps. Bill
