error message: set paper again, set printer again

keep getting the error message: set paper again, set toner againthe toner cover also isn't sitting properly for some reason. please refer attached picture model: ImageCLASS MF4320d

the issue is that the printer panel doesn't close properly. probably the reason why the printer displays command to set printer again.
