What are some compatible flashes for the Canon EOS R7 for macro photography?

Hello I looking to get into macro photography and want to know a good and compatible flash for my Canon EOS R7. I have it paired with my RF 100mm F/2.8 L. I was looking at the Godox V1 flash for Canon, but will I need an adapter like the Canon AD-E1 Multi-function shoe adapter? Also, are there any portable speedlight diffusers you recommend or is the Godox Dome Diffuser good enough? Thanks!

The Canon EL-5 would be the most compatible, and is currently only $60 more than buying a Godox V1 + AD-E1 adapter.
