Canon 600ex RT error

Zienphotography

Hello,

We have a problem with the Canon 600 ex RT. The flash will go off at maximum power on 1/128 and 1/1.
We have tried serveral options but we can't solve it.

We've got this problem with other flashes too. Doe you know what is the problem? Is it a regular problem?

Thank you in advance

Does the flash only output full power at 1/28 (odd number, shouldn't it be 1/32?) and no other (like 1/128 or 1/64)?  If it produces nothing but full power for all settings, you have a big problem - a failure in circuitry that needs repair.  This problem, while not prevalent, has been known to happen.

Certainly not a problem at 1/1. How are you triggering? Are you using any non-Canon equipment?

just camera and flash. Keeps giving full power

Which Camera?

Is it on camera or controlled remotely via optical or wireless? Have you tried to reset the settings? Are you in manual mode?

camera is in the message

trough the viewer no live view

did reset it  manuel mode

Is the flash on the camera?

If the flash is in manual mode, and you cannot set the power, the flash is broken. If you are in a hurry call Canon, otherwise, buy Syl Arena's Speediliter's handbook.

Those are E-TTL cameras. So unless you are going to set the flash power manually, the flash must be set to E-TTL as well. If you set it to TTL instead, it will always flash at full power.
