Friday night I shot a game that, to put it politely, didn't go well for the team I was photographing. Other than a beautiful leaping one handed catch with the receiver coming towards me on the sideline, there weren't a lot of good plays on the field and it was an opportunity to get more non-action shots than usual.
Images were taken with Canon 1DX Mark II bodies, using 24-70 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8 lenses; all except group of ball boys shot @ f2.8, 1/800, they were at f3.2, 1/320. ISO ranged from 8,000 to 20,000 at a decently illuminated field, images processed through DPP with moderate noise reduction.
My daughter and I also had fun exploring the town and I found a cool Kodak Autographic junior 2C for $20 that will look nice on the shelf.

Good photos with action and the positive attitudes of the others. Again, thanks for listing the settings.
Several years ago, the sports photographer for the local paper caught a catcher fielding a ball in midair and tagging the runner before he got to the plate. All done while in the air!
