Into the Light

Rising Star

While on my photo group tour we stopped at Dunlewey Church ruin in County Donegal, Ireland.   I had not phootographed many ruins, so it was an experience for me.  Suddenly, we got a brief, intense rain shower.  I happened to be standing near this entrance and aafter the shower we were rewarded with this warm, glowing.  I tried to position myself slightly out of frame to try and avoid the highlights getting completely blown out.  This was the best shot.

Thanks, I think that soft glow of light makes it look that way

It feels very compressed like linearity has become a finite point. It definitely make you look at it.

Thanks, Karl!

I have admired your Iceland and other Ireland photos, but this one is particularly exceptional.  Thank you for making this photo and sharing it with us.  The power pole left in it doesn't detract from it, but I think it makes it both more real and unreal.

Thanks for mentioning that power pole.  I had not even noticed it?  I guess my vision isn't what it used to be.  Thank goodneess for AF.   If I make a large print of this I may remove the pole, but I also see your point in keeping it too.

I would say your vision for great photos is just fine!
