In the spirit of Independence Day

I have come to learn what it means to "study" art as the artist.   Looking back on Michelangelo's sketch book was both daunting--engaging with genius can be--and enlightening.  Realizing that the greatest artists with the most talent work at their art.  In that spirit I have a subject I spent some time with and I eventually produced these images which satisfied my need to improve and capture. I often worry that capturing iconic images means I am only copying the work of others. I have come, however, to look upon it as a means to engage with others and see what I can produce.  Hope you all enjoy.
