Here are some shots of agates I took with EOS 70D

 The lens i used was a 70-300mm on these Lake Superior agates. I am open to any suggestions on what I need to improve upon. Taken with Canon EOS 70D, lens 75-300mm

 

 The first pictures settings:  F-Stop -F/9, ISO -160,  Exposure time - 1/400

Members are encouraged to post the exposure and camera settings with their images in "Share Your Photos", so that others may learn from them.  

 

Your posted images look nice and sharp.  There isn't much DoF because of the focal length in use and the apparently short distance to the subject.  A true macro lens might capture more detail, but would likely require focus stacking to capture the entire agate in focus.
